Who We Are
Bodies on Point is a full-service acupuncture clinic and apothecary in the heart of the Whittier neighborhood in Denver. We believe that prevention is the best medicine. We want you to take control of your health and wellness and we can help you do that with acupuncture, East Asian herbs, cupping, gua sha, pilates, dietary recommendations, and massage. We’re here to keep you On Point!
Traditional East Asian Medicine rarely boils down to black and white. It is almost always some shade of grey. Therefore, it as much an art as a practice, which in turn requires constant attention, growth, discussion, and even a little bit of playfulness. It needs movement and fluidity to find its fullest expression and success.
Sara and Thaddeus first worked together while pursuing their education at CSTCM. They quickly learned not only did their styles accommodate and enhance each other but that by working together they were able to more effectively treat their patients. It was this realization that gave birth to the creation of Bodies on Point.
Liz Burritt joined Bodies on point in the fall of 2018 to add to our growing team of wellness providers.

Sara Kay Lohmeyer
I have been intrigued by acupuncture since visiting China in 1994, but never felt like I had a reason to seek out treatment. In 2009, my first son turned breech last minute and I used acupuncture to help me have a natural childbirth. I found acupuncture again while pregnant with my second son when I found myself a week late with his delivery. While getting a treatment, I decided I wanted to know more about how acupuncture worked, what else acupuncture could help with, and how acupuncture can prevent sickness and illness.
I am a graduate of the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Denver, CO, with my MS in Traditional Chinese Medicine and licensed in acupuncture. I have spent my entire life studying the body from being a dancer to being a pilates instructor to treating patients with acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. My life-long goal has been to help people get their health to the most optimum point. Prevention is the best medicine.
I stumbled upon acupuncture after an unfortunate turn of events left me limping around on crutches. I hobbled into my first treatment and walked out an hour later. I couldn’t believe the transformation and decided then and there to continue my investigation into all that acupuncture had to offer.
Over the years, I came to appreciate the impact acupuncture and herbs had on so many aspects of my life. From helping me deal with the physical and mental stress of working as a wildland firefighter, to dealing with the occasional health issues which arose as part of everyday life, Chinese medicine was there.
When it came time to hang up my fire boots, I decided what better way to continue serving and helping people than to learn the medicine which had kept me going strong for all those years. And so, this is what I did. And now, I am ready to share it with you.
I am a graduate of Colorado School of Chinese Medicine and a Colorado state-licensed and nationally certified acupuncturist. I received my Master’s degree in Oriental medicine and have been recognized by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture (NCCAOM).
It is my sincere hope that I will have a chance to employ all I have learned to help you overcome your stress, your fatigue, your emotional challenges, your aches, and pains, or whatever else confronts you through this traditional form of medicine.
Having worked with my own body and other bodies as a dancer, a performer, and a dance teacher, I have relied on and reaped the benefits of those gifted and versed in the art of healing and restoring the body to its optimum state. During the twenty years, I was dancing with a modern dance company in San Francisco, I apprenticed with Stephen Coleman LAc, CMT, who is the master of keeping the dancers of the community on their feet and healthy. I fell in love with learning about the body, how it works, how to go about restoring it, when it is injured or impaired, and about how the body is interconnected with every other aspect of our complex selves.
When I returned home to Colorado, I decided to continue the journey. I am a licensed graduate of the Denver Integrative Massage School, where I furthered my study of Deep Tissue and Swedish techniques, as well as learned Thai, Thai for the Table, Myofascial Release, and Prenatal massage.
My ongoing desire and goal is to deeply listen to each person and their body and to work with them to find pathways to their optimum health.
We Changed Their Lives
Thad is by far one of the most knowledgeable, professional, and caring individuals I have the pleasure of knowing. Every time he treats me, I feel virtually 100% better within the next 1-2 days! Without a doubt, Thad is one of the most naturally gifted acupuncturists/herbalists in Denver. Do yourself a favor and go see Thad for your next acupuncture treatment!!!
Sara is amazing! She has successfully treated my toddler’s constipation and other tummy troubles in a manner that was fun and effective for the little ones.
I had a chance to work with Sara and it was awesome. She listened to what my needs were and it was amazing the results. I would highly recomend her to anyone who is looking for Acupuncture and non western solutions!
Sara leads with compassion and caring for all her clients. She is extremely talented in the art of Chinese medicine, and provides as much of the mental healing as the physical side. She has cured everything from my every day cold to the constant swelling in my surgically repaired knee. If it was not for Sara I would not be able to enjoy my active lifestyle playing hockey, riding bikes with my kids, and coaching soccer. Thank you Sara for your kind heart, honesty, and uplifting positivity!
