Sooo, who doesn’t love burgers? And why not try a black bean burger? This recipe come from Shay. It’s delicious and easy! We love to use either english muffins for buns (NYC style-hard to find burger size english muffins in denver) or the thin buns. We like these burgers with a side of sweet potato fries.
2 cans of black beans, drained, rinsed and mashed well
1 1/2- 2 cups bread crumbs
1 onion dices
3 eggs, lightly beaten
3-4 garlic cloves crushed
salt, pepper, cumin-seasoned as you like!
We also like to add red pepper flakes and canned green chiles
Mash beans, then mix all together
Form in to patties and grill or pan fry.
We grill these on the outside grill, but watch them close! They cook fast! We also add cheese at the end- swiss, cheddar, pepperjack.
Top with all your favorite! Lettuce, Tomatoes, Avocados, Ketchup
