O!M!G! We are in July! Half of the year is over and I feel like I’ve been on a roller coaster for the past several months that is finally coming to the end of the ride . . . .I’m going to stay seated until the ride comes to a complete stop and then exit . . . . translation, the middle of this month is finally going to slow down and I am soooooo ready! I’m sure many of you are feeling the same! And with that, the full moon this month is the Full Buck Moon, also known as the Thunder Moon, is a time of reflection and renewal. Symbolically, it represents abundance, growth, and the perfect opportunity to reflect on our journey towards optimal health and well-being. During this phase, take a moment to appreciate your progress and set intentions for the the second half of the year. It’s time to embrace the full moon’s energy and let it guide you towards a renewed sense of purpose on your wellness path. If you’ve been in lately, we may have talked about how July and August are the best times of the year to boost your immune system and prepare for staying healthy in the winter months. It’s kinda like the squirrel gathering the nuts for the winter. Set yourself up for success this winter by staying healthy this summer. Here’s a few tips:

Balanced Diet: All those fruits and veggies are just starting to ripen. Take this time to eat seasonally and locally by hitting up all those farmers markets! We are in the Fire element for Chinese Medicine and with that is the color RED. Support your fire element and the organs associated with it (heart, small intestines, pericardium, triple burner) by enjoying red foods such as strawberries, watermelon, kidney beans, cherries, red beets. Acupuncture for health and wellness. The summer is a fun time of year, but a busy time of year. Make sure you are taking care of YOU! Especially for things such as: – Stress Reduction: Engage in stress-reducing activities such as deep breathing exercises, meditation, yoga, or spending time in nature. – Emotional Release: Consider acupuncture sessions to help release stagnant energy, promote emotional balance, and alleviate stress and anxiety. – Sleep Hygiene: Establish a relaxing bedtime routine, limit electronic device usage before bed, and create a calm sleep environment conducive to quality rest. – Acupuncture for Insomnia: Acupuncture can help regulate sleep patterns, promoting deep, restorative sleep.

Movement and Exercise: Movement is our way of moving Qi- the energy source in our body and that’s what brings us JOY! Joy and laughter and the emotions and sounds of the Fire element. Take time to embrace these through movement outside. Who wants to go ride bikes??? |
