Root Chakra (Muladhara)☝🏻

Located at the base of the spine, the pelvic floor, at the tailbone in the back, and pubic bone in the front.

The root chakra provides the foundation for our lives. Β It is related to our feelings of safety and security both physically and metaphorically. πŸ’‚πŸΌβ€

Color: the color of the root chakra is Red❀️

 

Gemstones:  garnet red jasper, black tourmaline and bloodstone are associated with the root chakra (can be placed on the body over the chakra to help balance the chakra)❀️

 

Imbalances in the root chakra may manifest as anxiety disorders, fears, financial problems, feelings of disconnectedness, problems with the colon, bladder, with elimination, lower back, leg or feet issues, prostate problems or eating disorders.😰  

 

A balanced root chakra brings emotional stability and the ability to trust and cope with all situations.πŸ™πŸΌ

 

Physical Positions to help open a blocked first chakra:

Bringing knees to chest, and then head to knees (child’s pose)

Squatting

Lunges (stretch psoas and quad muscles which are associated with fight or flight response)

Hanging forward from the hips with feet parallel under hips

Hanging forward from the hips with feet parallel and wide apart

 

Activities the help you connect with the Earth help balance and strengthen the root chakra (cooking, gardening, hiking etc.)🌱
