The Full PINK Moon reaches its peak on ...

March 2023
Originally thought to be named due to worms appearing as the soil warms inviting robins and other birds to feed, the full worm moon will reach its peak on Tuesday, March 7th at 5:42am MST. The actual name comes from when beetle larva would emerge from the thawing bark of trees and other hideouts.

February 2023
February’s full Snow Moon reaches peak illumination at 1:30 P.M. EST on Sunday, February 5. It will be below the horizon at this time, so for the best view of this moon, look for it later on in the day; it will drift above the horizon in the east around sunset and reach its highest point in the sky around midnight.

January 2023
January’s full Wolf Moon reaches peak illumination on Friday, January 6, at 6:09 P.M. EST. Look for the Moon to rise from the northeastern horizon around sunset. During a full moon, the Moon is located on the opposite side of the Earth to the Sun so the face of the Moon facing towards the Earth will be completely illuminated by the Sun’s rays.

December 2022
December’s full Moon is most commonly known as the Cold Moon—a Mohawk name that conveys the frigid conditions of this time of year, when cold weather truly begins to grip us.
